There is a short trail near Van Gogh Way in Coto de Caza called "The Sunshine Boys Trail" that takes you under a dense canopy of oaks. In the summer, this persistent shade is a very welcome way to wind down a hike from the upper Bellview Canyon Trail; in the winter and spring, it is a cool and dreamy place to have an afternoon picnic.

There are a few trails in Coto de Caza that I love hiking on and would recommend to anyone if you've got a little time, some decent shoes and a love for nature. I thought I'd break the trails apart so each could stand on its own.
The first I'm doing is the Sawgrass Trail that begins where the street of Sawgrass ends; it winds around a large custom home and then starts right up a hill covered by fire-blackened oaks that have since returned to a partial glory.

I was looking at zillow.com's website a moment ago, looking for ways to improve my site when I bumped into a little icon that had a "walk score" next to it. The property had a walk score of 14 and underneath he score it said "Car Dependent" and I thought "Is this some kind of algorithm to judge a place's walkability?" Of course, it was, or rather is... otherwise this post would end right now with "Wouldn't that be neat?"
